Karmit Fadael wins Composition Competition

Karmit Fadael of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague was unanimously chosen as the winner of the prize for her composition Paringsdans.

In addition to the competition and festival, TROMP organizes a composition competition for young composers who study at Dutch conservatories. Today, the compositions were performed by fellow students for an audience and a jury that consisted of Marijn ten Harmsen van der Beek (chairman), Mayke Nas (composer), Bert Palinckx (director November Music), Davo van Peursen (director Donemus Publishing) and Janco Verduin (composer). Karmit Fadael of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague was unanimously chosen as the winner of the prize for her composition Paringsdans. "Immediate spectacle. Minimal set-up, maximum effect and gouge ", according to the jury. The composition prize of € 1,500 was awarded to her today.
