Play alongside master drummer Lucas van Merwijk

Under the lead of Lucas van Merwijk, 50 young musicians parade through the city with beats that pull you right in. Whether you're part of a drumgroup, play percussion yourself, or have never touched a drum in your life: this is a celebration where everyone can take part. Grab your sticks, bring your group, and hit the streets together.

Drumming meets movement with Circle Percussion

Japanese drums in a gym setting; that's exactly what this workshop is about. Circle Percussion has put together a session where rhythm and physical movement go hand in hand. Think pounding drums, real technique, and a serious workout all rolled into one.

You don't need any musical experience. These sessions are built for people who want to do something, not just watch. You'll work on rhythm, coordination and stamina, while getting a taste of one of the most powerful drum traditions out there. A collab between TROMP and Dynamo Eindhoven, designed for a young crowd that's up for something different.

Stravinsky & Takemitsu with Philzuid

As part of the TROMP Competition, Philzuid presents a striking programme centred around Igor Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps, one of the most revolutionary works in music history. Its primal rhythms and explosive energy still resonate more than a century after its scandalous premiere, created for Sergei Diaghilev and choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky.

The programme is framed by two ritual-inspired masterpieces: Claude Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune, a shimmering impressionist dreamscape, and Toru Takemitsu’s From me flows what you call time, a meditative percussion concerto where five soloists embody the natural elements. Led by Dominique Vleeshouwers, Philzuid and the soloists transform the concert hall into a flowing sound ritual in collaboration with TROMP Percussion.

Stravinsky & Takemitsu with Philzuid

Three prize winners of TROMP 2024 return to the festival for a special evening curated entirely by themselves.

Miguel Traquina from Portugal, Song Yongkong from South Korea, and Xia Yuan from China each take over the stage for one hour, presenting their own artistic vision through original projects, collaborations, and new compositions.

The night concludes with an open jam session in collaboration with Open Your Mind Dance Battle, bringing artists and audiences together as the boundary between stage and crowd disappears.

An evening dedicated to connection, experimentation, and the future of creative practice.

DAUW | Where percussion and meditation meet (Festival Edition)

In a world that keeps accelerating, TROMP Percussion invites you to pause. During TROMP Percussion 2026, DAUW returns as a special festival edition where percussion and meditation meet.

Each session begins with a guided meditation by Zen teacher Anne Peters. From this place of stillness, a live concert unfolds offering a sound experience rich in resonance, subtle energy and refined rhythm.

From singing bowls to marimba, from gongs to vibraphone, the music settles gently into the space, inviting deep listening and quiet presence.

No prior experience with meditation or music is needed, everyone is welcome. After the concert, there is time to reflect, share, or simply remain together in silence.

Slow down, listen, and experience.

You don't need any musical experience. These sessions are built for people who want to do something, not just watch. You'll work on rhythm, coordination and stamina, while getting a taste of one of the most powerful drum traditions out there.
