Jury Rounds
Sun 20 Sept
CKE - Cultuur & Kunst Eindhoven
Round 1: Here I Am
The world's leading percussion competition just rewrote its own rules. No set pieces, no two performances alike, just ten of the best young percussionists on the planet stepping up to say: here's who I am.
Ten artists arrive in Eindhoven from across the world, and each one builds a performance entirely their own, from electronic to classical to contemporary. Round 1 is the introduction: ten recitals of 35 minutes, each one an artist showing you, in their own way, exactly what they're about.
Three performance spaces fill CKE, each with its own atmosphere, and you move between them at your own pace. Choose your route, follow your curiosity, and meet ten artists who don't play, or think, alike.
It's the most open, personal and surprising round of the whole competition. Ten worlds, one afternoon, and you decide how to explore them.
Tue 22 Sept
Muziekgebouw Eindhoven - Recital hall
Round 2
Tien.Solo.Slagwerk.
One evening, one stage, ten of the world's best young percussionists. Round 2 is the classical heart of the competition: a recital evening built around a repertoire carefully chosen by the jury.
This is where you hear what each artist does with the music itself. Same selection, ten interpretations, and every one of them brings its own colors, its own ideas, its own choices. The notes on the page stay the same. What each player finds in them doesn't.
It all happens in the Recital Hall of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, ten outstanding artists side by side across a single evening, each one making the music entirely their own.
Wed 23 Sept

Round 3
Postcards to the Future
Walk into a cathedral turned into a percussion world.
Step inside the Paterskerk, one of Eindhoven's most beautiful spaces, and you enter what feels like a living artwork. Ten percussionists perform around you, spread through the church, and there's no stage to sit in front of. You move freely between them, at your own pace, through a whole landscape of sound.
The common thread is a single piece: Seismisms by Yannis Kyriakides. It's the challenge we set every competitor, one composition handed to ten artists, and each one turns it into something entirely their own. Ten readings of the same work, filling the same space, all at once.
Walk, pause, listen, and feel how the architecture and the percussion fold into one another. Then, as the round closes, the three finalists are revealed.
Sun 27 Sept
Muziekgebouw Eindhoven - Recital hall
Final
Three finalists, three days, one artistic team.
The three finalists work together with Het Muziek, composers Malika Kishino and Genevieve Murphy, and visual artist Jurjen Alkema to create a personal 35-minute recital.
Rather than presenting identical competition rounds, the finalists will premiere three unique performances in a single afternoon. Each recital includes a new work by Kishino, performed by all three finalists, as well as roadmap material specially written by Murphy for each individual performer.
