Every two years the TROMP Percussion Festival attracts international musicians and enthusiasts to the city of Eindhoven. The festival consists of five full days of concerts by renowned professionals and workshops for young and old. Each edition, leading musicians and rising stars in the percussion scene are invited to host masterclasses. Come and discover the best of what percussion has to offer!
The festival happens simultaneously to the competition in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven and various locations throughout the city. It offers young talent the chance to meet with and perform alongside internationally known percussionists. Showing various manifestations of percussion, leading artists perform in unique line-ups and crossovers, from classical to dance and pop music. The past editions featured artists like Glenn Kotche, Jeff Mills, NOISIA, Han Bennink, Gary Burton, Stewart Copeland, Pete Lockett, Keith Carlock, Les Tambours du Bronx and HIIIT.
TROMP laureates are also invited to perform in the festival as solo artists or with their ensembles, special projects or alongside laureates of other competitions or even world famous musicians. Alexandre Esperet performed with his Trio SR9 alongside the New York percussion ensemble Sõ Percussion. Dominique Vleeshouwers performed with his project Playground and has devoloped the spectecular show Marching and Breakin' for TROMP.
Every edition, the TROMP festival gives a stage to the best that the percussion world of today and the future have to offer. The programme includes some of the most renowned percussionsts and leaves room for competition participants to present their skills to a broad audience.
TROMP festival encorporates a variety of inpiring talks on all topics related to percussion and being a percussionist. The talks are hosted by experts in the field. Past editions have included talks on topics such as how it is to be a percussionist, rhythm and technology, how to present yourself as a musician and what kinds of percussion programmes typically get booked at concert venues.
TROMP festival offers a wide range of workshops, masterclasses and clinics, hosted by renowned artists. The workshops include a selection of open-level sessions that are available to all festival visitors.

TROMP Percussion Sessions: a two-day event during the TROMP Festival, piloted at the 2022 edition. The artistic team of TROMP's international prize winners curated these two days filled with masterclasses, lectures, workshops, concerts and presentations by international percussion legends and local heroes. All percussionists are welcome in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven for two days packed with new ideas and inventions, world-class percussionists, drummers from different styles, crazy performances, and meeting people from all over the world.
